Reasons To Love Your Job2

I realize I branded myself the scorned career woman. You probably picture this girl rambling on about all her relationship analogies, one hand shaking her fist at corporate America, and the other clutching a full glass of Malbec. I promise you that’s not true at all. Well, except the part about the Malbec.

Yes, there are moments when I’ve felt burned in my career, but there are just as many when I’ve felt quite the opposite. There were times in the last couple years when I couldn’t have been happier, and I’m so grateful for those experiences. Sometimes my mind gets clouded with melodrama and angry chick music, and I need a reminder of what I loved about my past jobs, and most importantly, what I love about what I’m doing right now.

So here is it: I’m in love with my career. There I said it. It’s why I spend so much time tending to it. In spite of the obstacles and hurdles, it’s a relationship I’ll never stop working on. Hell, I created an entire blog about my career. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.

Valentines Day is fast approaching and I figured there’s no better time to talk about L.O.V.E. The boys get enough of it so let’s switch it up shall we? In honor of the day of love (and overpriced boxes of chocolate), I encourage you to remind yourself what you love most about your job.

I compiled a list of reasons based on my experience, but maybe you have one not on here. IN which case, you go girl.

Write yourself a little love note with your reason and put it somewhere, on your desk, in your wallet, taped to your mirror. As long as you remember where it is. Look at it whenever you need a little boost in job love.

Here are some reasons to love your job this VDAY:
